3 months have flown right by

Let me start out saying that I have been super busy with the babies and now work (work will be ending soon).  Lexi and Noah are now 14 weeks old.  How time flies when you are having fun.  The twins have gone from being so tiny too little chunks, Lexi went to the dr. due to a cold she weighs 13lbs now and that means Noah has got to be about a pound bigger I am guessing!  I have to admit that the first month was emotional with trying to figure both babies out to finding out they both have acid reflux and out little Lexi bug is a screamer.  I have to say I hate that my babies have acid reflux, not only does it have me washing tons of bibs, burp cloths and clothes it has to be rough on the babies.  Lexi fought her bottle really bad and Noah well he just threw up half his bottles.  Now it seems to be a little better, Noah still throws up a lot but Lexi doesn’t fight the bottles anymore.  They were both put on Zantac.  I hear when they get off formula things will get better for them.  I bet they can’t wait.  I can’t imagine throwing up all the time, it has to hurt their little throats.  At their 8 week checkup Noah weighed 10lb 8oz and Lexi weighed 10lb 5oz and both were 21” long.  I can’t wait until their next checkup, they have grown so much and changed a ton…Noah doesn’t even look like the same baby.  Oh and both babies having been sleeping through the night since they were about 9 weeks old.

To describe the babies Noah is most of the time quiet and calm and he takes everything in, oh and he is a momma’s boy.  The only time he is gets upset is if he is hungry or really tired.  I have never in my life met a baby that fights their sleep like he does.  I thought babies slept all the time, well they don’t at least  not all of them.  He from the time he was born didn’t sleep long during the day.  He would just hang out.  It’s funny to hear him cry, he has a very high pitched cry, especially when he is really mad, it can pierce your eardrums.  Lexi is my drama queen, my little princess!  She is definitely a female that knows what she wants when she wants it.  She has always been the screamer out of the two.  She had the dr.’s and myself thinking she had colic.  But really I think it had to do with her acid reflux bothering her, she doesn’t seem to scream like she used too.  She always has loved her sleep (sleeping beauty).  It’s funny, Lexi has a thing with her tongue, I am not sure what it is but she always sticks it out.  I have lots of pics of her like that.  She even licks things.  She love love loves her lady bug stuffed animals, they are on her bouncer.  It is so cute to watch her with them.  Both babies are developing on schedule.  Noah seemed to be doing things a bit faster at first and then Lexi started doing things faster, such moving her little body as if she was dancing or something.  I decided Noah was just a bit lazy!!!  And since then they seem to do things about the same time.  They both started smiling at around 7 weeks.  I can’t describe what that does to a mother’s heart.  It melted mine.  Now they are starting to laugh.  They crack me up, Lexi throws herself back a little bit when she laughs it is so darn cute and all you have to do is tell her she is pretty and she will give you the biggest smile ever.  I started painting her toenails, Daniel won’t let me get her ear pierced so I thought that was the next best thing.  Oh they are sooooo cute.  I will stop when she starts putting her toes in her mouth, no need for her to eat polish.  Mom went to Sea World over the weekend and bought the babies Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse stuffed animals.  Noah absolutely loves his, he grabs it up and just starts chomping on it, particularly the nose.  I love it.  We let them watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and they really enjoy that so that’s why mom got the stuffed animals for them.  Lexi gets extremely excited when she hears it coming on and Noah gets a giant smile on his face.

My babies have been sick for the past week, the dr. says it is just a summer cold and it will have to run its course, I am totally blaming it on daycare.  Poor Lexi has a hard time breathing and both are now coughing, Lexi seems have it worse than Noah.  The dr. said it would take about 14 days to get over, we are pushing about 10 days.  Lexi wakes up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep unless I put her in the swing.  It helps so I guess it’s ok.  Tuesday my back started hurting real bad, everything has hurt since I had the twins.  My feet don’t work right, I can’t pop my back like I used to and my shoulder goes to sleep if I do laundry or the dishes.  I started seeing the chiropractor again.  He told me today my hips are not aligned and that one is up and out and the other is down and back oh and my spin has a slight curve to it which it never ever had before babies.  So he has me on a treatment plan and he gave me a few things to try for the pain.  It’s really sad when you can barely get your kids out of their cribs.  My biggest fear is dropping them on the hardwood floors…those are all throughout the house.  I am hoping for a fast recovery considering the babies are way too young to take care of themselves, mom is helping a bunch.

So this Sunday is Daniel’s first father’s day and I hope the babies feel better.  I still am trying to figure out what we want to do for him, something special of course.  I just am praying the little ones are feeling better so they will be in good moods lol.  If you have any ideas on what to do for a first Father’s Day gift I would love to hear them.  I want him to be able to remember it forever and keep whatever we decide to give him for a very long time.  I know hand prints and feet impressions would be a great idea, I just don’t know how hard that would be for me to do, both babies didn’t like that to much when I was trying to do that for their baby books.  Well I better get back to work.  I just wanted to update you on the babies progress.  I have added a few pics from over the months…Enjoy!

You learn real quick how to feed both babies!!!

  1. Isn't it amazing how fast time can fly?! I love that you call Lexi, Lexi Bug. That's what I call Lilah...Lilah Bug, and my Lexie is Lexie Lou...funny how silly nicknames stick!

The babies are adorable! My son, Tucker, and Lilah both have battled with reflux. Tucker finally stopped spitting up at a year old. Lilah was a little before that but now, at almost two, she's still on Zantac to help with reflux, if not she's sooo fussy! Good luck!

  2. It is crazy how time flies on by, I thought it did before! Funny you say Lexie Lou as well, we do the same. I think now I tend to say Lexi bug more often. Sometimes I think we should have named her Lexi instead of Alexis, it's not very often I say that.

So the dr. on Friday upped their Zantac. But so far I can't tell a difference. The school asked me to consider upping their formula to 5oz so I did that over the weekend and I will tell you what I see tons more puke now. Not sure how to handle it. One of our nephews is on Zantac and he is going on two as well. Wonder how long these babies will have to suffer, I know it has to be terrible on them.

I have to say if you have any twin tips, I am very willing to hear them!!! Hope you are having a great week so far, ttys.
