Father's Day has come and gone. But Daniel will forever remember that day. I decided to make him something homemade, something from the heart and something that he could always cherish from the babies. I did a little research and came across this really neat idea. It was a picture frame that spelled out DAD. The instructions called for me to print out the template and basically cut out the word dad using card stock. I decided to get a little more creative, I went to the store and purchased foam and stickers and a piece of card stock, I also enlarged the dad to about 3x the size. I traced it out on the foam using an X-Acto knife. I did that twice and then cut out the word dad on the card stock. I decided to do it this way because I wanted more stability. The instructions said to bend paperclips to use as a stand but I decided I didn't want to do that either, I bought peel and stick magnets...I made it into a refrigerator magnet. I then printed out a photo each of the twins and taped them to the back of the first piece of foam, from there I added the card stock and the last piece of foam. I used glue to attached all of this together. After I made sure the pictures were in place and the whole thing seemed stable I added three magnets to the back. Then I took the cute little 3d stickers with Mickey and Friends and placed them all around the frame. I chose Mickey because the twins absolutely love Mickey and Minnie Mouse. And wa-la the perfect Father's Day present was finished. Daniel was so thrilled with it!!! He actually thought I bought it!! We also got him a cool shirt that said New Dad 2011 on it, which he immediately changed into (and to think I kind of thought it might be cheesy). Not only did he get that from me, Noah and Lexi the school had cool little things they made for him as well. So I personally think Daniel made out!!!! To me there is nothing more special than receiving something from the heart.
